Random...

Random, aka Big Ran, is a conscious rapper with the flow of a monster. He is an educated man that has a way with his words. He speaks on his pain, heartache, experiences, and happiness within his music. I feel that he has impeccable delivery. Each word touches you soulfully when he expresses his experiences and thoughts...Big Ran is a TRUE emcee.

His song Push, which has more than 18,000 plays on his MySpace page (www.MySpace.com/random215), is one of his best songs lyrically. He speaks on his experiences growing up. In his lyrics, he explains that when things got rough, he had to push himself through. He makes many brilliant points and references in this track. He not only expressed how he had to push himself to be a better man but how he had to push himself for his family sake, for the individuals that fought for his freedom in the past, and for the future of the children and rappers coming up.

Raze the Bar Remix shows Big Ran’s competitive side in every which way. He addresses rappers that lie in their rhymes to receive praise for experiences that they’ve never gone through. “What I look like fronting to form a little change”. Clearly he's against rappers that compromise what they stand for just to get their paper up. I wholeheartedly agree with him.

Random probably wont get the accolades he deserves because he isnt willing to compromise and commercialize his craft. He seems ok with this..because he’s doing something he enjoys and whats true. “Whether or not the label call, I’m still going to raise the bar”. - Random is definitely Encore Status.

Trezure The Empress = Encore Status

By: Sha-OS
Soul music is too vague a term to describe the kaleidoscope of human emotion we deal with. Really its just gumbo that resonates with a present moment, a present hurt, or joy, or question that someone else somewhere is sorting through, and someone else somewhere needed to put to music. That tapestry, that tradition, of what we call soul is somewhere between rhythms and blues, between Etta and Mary J and just beneath the surface of what language is capable of with clarity. It needs song. That requires a deft touch, an ability to hear those different chords and tell us our own stories. It usually means what we get in contemporary music is something we know damn well aint soul, or something we’ve heard before. What sets Trezure apart, is how she’s found a way to turn a corner, staying true to the sounds our parents played in living rooms, with accents of what we know, and what we’ve grown into. Her sound hits the mark—compelling, while fun, relevant, without beating you over the head, just off the shoulder or grazing the thigh without groping, composed and strong, while it runs its hands over something tender and vulnerable. Her voice is the protest, and the promise of something soothing for wearied shoulders and tired feet. What you get in “Killer Cop” is our daily concern, our modern world angst and anger, and coping. “Time” is something haunting, beauty in the downturn and thoughtful. And “What Made Love” is not the passing romance, but the depth we all hope for - interlocked fingers pointing toward the same promise. What you get in Trezure is a new sound, a new soul that knows where it came from, and how to take us somewhere better, darker, lovelier, stronger, and more human.

Recession Song - Win Recession Prizes

Saw this on http://www.star-telegram.com

When we heard a tune by Jimmy Buffett
called A Lot To Drink About, we knew a new genre of music
had been born: the "recession song." (To hear a snippet of the song, go to www.mailboatstore.com. Warning: He didn’t exactly write it for kids.)

Now we want you to compose a laugh-out-loud-while-you-cry-inside kind of ditty, too.

Our panel of judges will select the finalists, and the winner will be determined by readers in an online vote.

Whaddaya win? Well, sorry, but we can’t shell out gift cards right now. Times are hard here, too. Instead, you’ll get a bag full of free stuff that publicists send us and that ethics rules keep us from taking home. Your bag could include: new CDs and books, makeup, clothing, toys, gadgets, cleaning supplies and a box of Alka-Seltzer.

Oh man lol...Here are the rules if you are interested- RULES

Fresh Daily = Encore Status

by dclare
Who says Hip Hop is dead? On the contrary, it is breathing through the lyrics of Underground artist, Fresh Daily. His diverse style and original approach merge with his laid back tone; giving listeners not only something we can dance to, but also something to think about.

Hey ladies!! Fresh wants to see our “Colors” on the dance floor. The upbeat tempo and unforgettable hook gives a few reasons to show what you got. Fresh leaves the typical to the competition and grabs the reigns of a whole new world in “Jump”. This original track gives our feet a break as he challenges the mind to take the world to another level. Motivational expression leaks through and grasps a hold of your inspiration as he leads us in lyrical splendor to follow your dreams and make it happen!

Overall, Fresh Daily is the next new thing in Hip Hop. Trend setter and go getter, there is no stopping him in the industry. With the diversity and delivery of a seasoned artist, there is no doubt that in no time, he will expand beyond the Underground and have all recognizing he is………..”Superspectacular”.

Final Outlaw...Encore Status?

Final Outlaw.

Last time I saw him perform, he was was at Southpaw in Brooklyn,NY. He performed this song 'Hip Hop 4 Eva' that rocked the entire joint. I felt embarrassed because:
1. It was my first time seeing this great artist perform
2. I didnt know this friggin song....EVERYONE in the joint knew it except me (i felt like a fool)

Anyway he has a video for this song. As you can tell, I'm biased....I like the artist and the song...BUT...you be the judge.
